HERE WE GO
Before me, Marcus had big plans to explore the world alone by sailboat. He just did not know at that time he would find a woman that had the same dreams as him. In July 2024, he acquired a work in progress 28.5 foot Hunter Sailboat named "The Patriot". Unfortunately, the owner had to get rid of it after it was stuck in 8 inches of water for a couple weeks. Throughout the first few months of owning it, he spent a lot of time scrubbing, cleaning, and making it look snazzy. By our second date we accomplished our first project together, the plumbing. Believe me, it is nice to have running water and a working toilet (even though we can't use the toilet, just yet.). I did not realize that after helping him with that project I would get addicted. The next few weekends we worked hard on the electrical AC/DC, which led to hooking up lights throughout the boat, a fan in the kitchen, changing the plugs to accommodate USB ports and adding a huge portable refrigerator/freezer to our boat. We have also fixed the water heater, figured out leaks throughout the boat, made the aft cabin and v birth sleepable, redid the shelves in the bathroom and built a small table with storage underneath for more storage space. We still have a lot of work to do like adding a couple more fans, getting rid of the carpet on the wall, painting, wood work, putting up curtains in the V Birth, and changing out the upholstery throughout the boat. Our biggest project right now is the engine. We still have some parts to buy and a lot of work to do, but our goal is to have the engine back in and boat moving by end of March 2025.
